I first heard about Redrow’s Graduate Scheme when a former graduate from my University gave a presentation to the then third years on what he had been up to since graduating. At this stage I wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to move into after finishing my degree, therefore the Graduate Scheme sounded perfect! As soon as I got home that day I went online and applied for the job and was lucky enough to be accepted onto the scheme. Since then it has been a bit of a whirlwind, as I was studying in North Wales, then moved back home to the Midlands over the summer. I turned up to the Graduate Induction in Tamworth with my car packed full of my belongings ready to move into a house share in Surrey once the training had finished – much to everyone’s amusement.
I relocated down South to work in the Southern Counties Division and have not regretted the move for a minute. The graduate scheme is perfect for exploring every aspect of the construction industry and figure out which direction of the industry you want to work in. It has also given me the opportunity to explore a new region in England that I had never even visited before. Relocating is not as daunting as it seems or maybe I have just moved around too much!
The regular training sessions in Tamworth are always a highlight, as you get to see all the other graduates again and bond over a refreshing pint in the Beefeater!
