University/Degree: University of Birmingham/Geography with Urban and Regional Planning
Hi, I’m Josh - one of the 2015 Graduates on Redrow’s Graduate Rotational Scheme.
I am originally from London but have (interestingly) made the trek up North in order to work in Redrow’s Midlands Office, based in Tamworth. The first 8 months have been an eye opening experience, having worked in the Land, Technical and Construction departments so far.
I had always been interested in the construction industry as the sector plays an important role worldwide, let alone in the UK. Being able to shape the world we live in was always an exciting prospect for me which explains why I studied Geography with Planning at University. However, I would stress to you that your degree is not the most important factor to joining Redrow.
Redrow are more interested in your passion for the industry; use your personality, interest and ambition to demonstrate why you are the perfect fit for Redrow’s various Graduate Schemes.
When I am not at work, I am either playing PlayStation, watching Football (Arsenal Fan – praying that Spurs don’t win the league), watching films, relaxing, or visiting friends on the weekend. I must admit, I was nervous about starting in the ‘real-world’ but it is truly an amazing feeling - having graduated and joined the profession I have always had a passion for.
I wish you the best of luck, and I hope this blog helps you on your way to becoming an employee at Redrow.
